Recently my plane at newark airport got delayed. Since I only have less than 30 minutes to burn, I decided to play around with my laptop and see if I could find a free wireless across the airport. I detected concourse wireless SSID and the signal was very strong. I browsed around their company web page as this is the only page they made available for free. After few minutes browsing their website, I accidentally found the loophole of their WIFI internet service. There is a way to browse the internet for free.

Although this loop hole only enables you to browse and you could not check your email or login to any website, it was enough for me to browse digg and read news in cnn and espn.

Copy and paste the following URL and replace <your_url_here> with any website you want to open

https://ads.jiwire.com/JOS.aspx/http/<your_url_here>

so, if you want to open digg.com just replace it with digg.com so that the url will be:

https://ads.jiwire.com/JOS.aspx/http/digg.com/

Fortunately for us, concourse is pretty big WISP provider. The following is the WIFI location as copied from their website:

I hope this information is useful and I don’t know how long does it take before they realize and fix the hole. Please leave the comment below and let me know if they have fixed the hole.
